Zehn Holzmännchen stehen im Wald, jedes individuell gestaltet. Sie sind gerüstet für den Weg Richtung Norden. Warum machen sie sich auf den Weg? Es ist die nächste Generation, die heranwächst. Die Generation Alpha wird sich mit den Folgen der Erderwärmung auseinandersetzen müssen. Stürme, Fluten, Hitze- und Kältewellen bedrohen die gerade erst geborenen.
Die Installation von Josiane Ginter entstand in Kooperation mit der KiTa Kyllburg. Jedes Kind fertigte einen Schattenriss von sich selbst auf Papier und bemalte ihn mit Winterkleidung. Diese Bilder übertrug Josiane Ginter auf Holz, sägte die Konturen aus und bearbeitete das Holz anschließend mit dem Schnitzmesser. Am Ende erfolgte die farbliche Gestaltung.

Ten wooden men, standing in the forest, each one individually designed. They are ready to head north. Why are they going? It’s the next generation growing up. Generation Alpha will have to deal with the consequences of global warming. Storms, floods, waves of heat and cold threaten the newly born.
The installation by Josiane Ginter was created in cooperation with the Kyllburg kindergarten. Each child made a silhouette of themselves on paper and painted it with winter clothing. Josiane Ginter transferred these images onto wood, sawed out the contours and then worked the wood with the carving knife. At the end, the color design took place.
